VARBusiness Spotlights Panda Security's SaaS Solution for its Low Overhead and Cloud-based Protection
Panda Security, a leading provider of IT security solutions, today announced that its Security-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution, Panda Managed Office Protection(TM), has been spotlighted by Everything Channel's VARBusiness on a shortlist of products that will keep companies protected in 2009. To help value added resellers (VARs) deal with next year's threats, VARBusiness staff, including senior members of the publication's editorial team and test lab, developed a list of 15 products and practices that could assist VAR efforts in keeping their customers safe next year.
Panda Managed Office Protection (PMOP) is a web-based anti-malware subscription service that minimizes the resources required to protect small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) from cybercriminal activity. Unlike traditional security software, PMOP allows the protection to be managed at any time, from anywhere. This enables administrators, regardless of their location, to manage the protection across an organization's entire network from any Web browser. In addition, because PMOP is a hosted service, it significantly reduces operating costs as no additional infrastructure is required to deploy and maintain maximum protection.
According to VARBusiness, "For 2009 threats, look to the cloud. Panda Security offers a managed security service, providing remote installation and centralized management. This Web-based subscription service offers remote proactive protection and allows VARs to manage clients and their branch offices from anywhere at any time. Key features include: personal firewall management, remote updates, malware auditing and profile-based protection. As a hosted service, Panda Managed Office Protection can potentially lower operating costs as the hardware, software and employee resources to manage an in-house security platform are reduced, if not eliminated altogether.
